“TOFEX” ophthalmologic cloth

The “TOFEX” ophthalmologic cloth presents itself the modified textile material containing pharmaceutical composition. The cloth possesses optimum deformation/durability and handling properties, ability  to be modelled according to the shape of object of surgical procedure. The cloth possesses the combined pharmacological effect in the field of operative procedure: antibacterial and activating regeneration of conjunctive tissues that promotes fast healing of injuries, improvement of properties of tissues of an organism in the surgical zone. Presence of an antibiotic allows to lower the number of postoperative complications and to reduce postoperative antibiotic therapy.

The “TOFEX” ophthalmologic cloth is sterile, produced under the following trade marks:

• “TOFEX-N” is the ophthalmologic cloth without a polymeric covering; 
• “TOFEX-S”  is the ophthalmologic cloth with a polymeric covering;
• “TOFEX-S-A”  is the ophthalmologic cloth with a polymeric covering and an antibiotic;
• “TOFEX-S-P”  is the ophthalmologic cloth with a polymeric covering and immuno-modulator;
• “TOFEX-S-P-A” is the ophthalmologic cloth with a polymeric covering, an antibiotic and immunomodulator.

The use of ophthalmologic cloth in ophthalmologic surgery

The cloth colour is from white up to cream-yellow with impregnations.
Shelf life of the “TOFEX” cloth is 3 years from the sterilization date.
The cloth is produced of rectangular shape in width of 20 mm
The following standard sizes (mm) are 20х20, 20х70, 20х100, 20х200, with a deviation ± 3 mm.

Application

•  In sclerosurgery (in cases of retinal detachment, short-sightedness, defects and penetrating wounds of an eye, etc.) as a reinforcing material for improving defects and fixing of ocular membranes.
• In anaplastic surgery (reconstructive surgery, contour plastics of the face, etc.) for replacement of soft tissues.
• At retinal detachment, wounds and traumas of eyes it is recommended to use the ophthalmologic cloth containing an antibiotic -“TOFEX-S-A” and “TOFEX-S-P-A” of standard sizes 20х20, 20х70,20х100 mm.
• At short-sightedness (myopia), it is recommended to use the ophthalmologic cloth containing “TOFEX-S-P” immunomodulator of standard sizes 20х70, 20х 100, 20х200 mm.
• For any sclera plastic and plastic operations it is recommended to use “TOFEX-N” and “TOFEX-S” ophthalmologic cloth of all standard sizes with additional pharmacotherapy.
